Can this read I2C or UART signals for embedded debugging?
It will display the raw waveform of those signals, so you can check voltage levels and timing. It does not decode serial protocols. For protocol decoding you'd want a logic analyzer alongside this.
What voltage range can it safely measure?
Check your specific unit's datasheet for maximum input voltage before probing mains or high-voltage automotive circuits. Most handheld scopes in this class are rated for low-voltage signal work, typically under 40V DC. Do not probe directly off ignition coil primary without an attenuator probe.
Is the battery rechargeable or does it take AA cells?
This unit uses a rechargeable internal battery. Charge via the included cable before first use. Runtime varies with display brightness and input activity, generally 2 to 4 hours of active probing.
