How do products earn a Staff Pick? Three criteria. The product must deliver clear value at its price point. It must have reliable build quality (no dead-on-arrival surprises). And it must be something we keep reaching for in our own maker work. We rotate picks quarterly and retire anything that gets outperformed by a newer option. What kinds of products make the list? You will find a mix: a $4 ESP32-C3 board that punches far above its price, a pixel display that genuinely impresses visitors, a Meshtastic device that just works out of the box.
